A Word Fitly Spoken - Mixed Medium

Which one is the original? This painting is shown in three mediums—a mixed medium, print, and giclee. Only the artist knows for sure. Nicked on the corner, the canvas on stretcher bars would likely seem to be the original.

The eye can be deceived. With a closer look, the mixed medium in the middle is the original. On the left is the giclee, (a digital print) and on the right is a print (machine copy).

I painted the original on a 300# watercolor paper. Like a piece of cardboard, it does not wrinkle, but can hold the weight of thick acrylic, oils, and watercolor paints. This original is called a mixed medium and framed under glass to preserve the painting and paper.

Each one of God’s promises are fitly spoken like apples in gold. He says through the pen of Isaiah, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” Isaiah 55:11)

That tells me when God communicates a word through His Spirit, the words are fitly spoken and directs to the one who is ready to hear. And when received, it will accomplish what He wants it to. His words intended for us will change us.

In this day where men’s words are full of deception, and we wonder what is true and not, we can trust God’s words. Like Words fitly spoken—from the Written Word—the Spoken Word, Rhema, Romans 10:8,9—and the person of Jesus Christ, the Word, John 1:1,2— all have the same message, same image displayed in three different mediums.

God’s words are trustworthy. His words will prosper where he sends it. That’s a promise we can count on.

    Be inspired,
